In early 2012, we (Hans-Michael Giesen and Alfried Heidbrink) founded the Berlin-based law firm of GIESEN HEIDBRINK. We had previously worked together for many years as partners in one of the largest and most renowned international firms.

Our clients are foreign and German companies, the public sector, and individuals. Our practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, M&A and other transactional work, the law of professional ethics and liability, as well as litigation and arbitration (including service as arbitrator). We frequently work on matters with a strong cross-border dimension.

We see ourselves performing a senior adviser role. Not every legal matter calls for a large team. Instead, experience, judgment, and hands-on personal involvement often matter the most. This is precisely what we bring to the table. Numerous clients of ours have been relying on this promise for many years.

We define ourselves by our professionalism. To us, in addition to legal excellence and commercial thinking, professionalism stands for: efficiency and service orientation; thoroughness and creativity; discretion and integrity. These are the standards by which we wish to be measured.
